You are doing well on this project. The good news is that you won't need a bypass module as the CV P71's don't
have the PATS system.
The standard wire guide sources give slightly different info on the vehicles ignition wires. It would be best to use a DMM
and determine them yourself. They all agree that the Brown, Yellow and Light Green wires are +12V constant, the the
WHITE/ Pink wire is the Starter wire and the BROWN / Pink wire is Ignition 1. There will be a Gray / YELLOW, BLACK/ Light Green
and Pink/Black that will test as either an Accessory or Ignition wire. The Viper can directly handle all but one of these
wires. Here is the wiring info from several sources :
Bulldog :
12 VOLT CONSTANT BROWN (+) and LIGHT GREEN (+) or YELLOW @ IGNITION SWITCH HARNESS
STARTER WHITE/ PINK (+) @ IGNITION SWITCH HARNESS
IGNITION 1 BROWN / PINK (+) @ IGNITION SWITCH HARNESS
IGNITION 2 PINK/BLACK (+) @ IGNITION SWITCH HARNESS
ACC/HEATER BLOWER 1 GREY / YELLOW (+) @ IGNITION SWITCH HARNESS
ACC/HEATER BLOWER 2 BLACK/ GREEN (+) @ IGNITION SWITCH HARNESS
Audiovox :
Battery YELLOW (+) IGNITION SWITCH HARNESS
Ignition 1 BROWN / PINK (+) IGNITION SWITCH HARNESS
Ignition 2 GRAY / YELLOW (+) IGNITION SWITCH HARNESS
Ignition 3 PINK/BLACK (+) IGNITION SWITCH HARNESS
Accessory 1 BLACK/ LIGHT GREEN (+) SAME WIRES IGN HARNESS
Starter 1 WHITE/ PINK (+) IGNITION SWITCH HARNESS
ReadyRemote :
12volts brown & lt. green + ignition harness
Starter WHITE/ pink + ignition harness
Ignition BROWN / pink + ignition harness
Second Ignition gray / YELLOW + ignition harness
Accessory BLACK/ lt. green + ignition harness
Second Accessory pink/black + ignition harness
Actually, there are 4 "power" input wires to your Viper. Three on the H3 harness and one on the H1 harness. It is always
a good idea to split them up between any available vehicle supply sources.
Viper 4806v Remote Start, 8 pin connector
H3/1 RED / Black +12 volt constant input Brown @ Ignition Switch
H3/2 Pink/Black + Flex relay pin 87a not used
H3/3 Pink/White + Ign 2/flex relay output Gray / YELLOW @ Ignition Switch * Program Viper as IGN or ACC
H3/4 Red +12 volt constant input Yellow @ Ignition Switch
H3/5 Violet + Starter Output WHITE/ Pink @ Ignition Switch
H3/6 Orange + Accessory Output BLACK/ Light Green @ Ignition Switch
H3/7 RED / White +12 volt constant Flex Relay Light Green @ Ignition Switch
H3/8 Pink + Ign 1 input/output BROWN / Pink @ Ignition Switch
* Set Viper Menu 3, Item 8 to either IGN or ACC as determined by previous testing of the Gray / YELLOW wire.
This leaves the Pink/Black wire. To power this wire, you will need a 30/40 Amp SPDT Relay, in-line fuse holder and a 30
Amp fuse. Here is the wiring :
Relay Pin 85 to Viper (-) 200mA Accessory or (-) 200mA Ignition Output **
Relay Pin 86 and 87 to suitable +12V constant source through 30 Amp fuse ( Yellow, Brown or Light Green )
Relay Pin 30 to CV P71 Pink/Black @ ignition switch harness
Relay Pin 87a not used - insulate
** Choose the appropriate Pin 85 relay control input depending on your previous test results on the Pink/Black wire.
These relay control wires are (-) thin gauge, not the thick (+) ignition wires found on the H3 harness.
Soldering is fun!
