Hey Guys,
I have a problem that I just can't seem to wrap my mind around with regards to the dome light supervision wire on H2/4 and the door trigger on H2/15. Car is a 1999 Honda Civic with a 5speed and the alarm is the Viper 5706v (2013 version if that means anything).
I have the entire remote start sequence working with the exception of the dome light wire/door trigger. I have the Lt GREEN/ red (door trigger wire on the alarm harness plug of the car) wired into the door trigger on the alarm module and then I have a relay for the domelight supervision wired as follows: 30-ground, 87-to Lt GREEN/ red wire of car, 85-+12V, 86-H2/4 (door trigger from h2/4). What happens is that when I have the car running in neutral with the key out of the ignition as part of the manual transmission mode on the alarm and I click the lock button, it shuts the car off like it should but it immediately cancels the MTS sequence for starting the car because the dome light wire from the relay is tripping the door trigger, cancelling the MTS mode. If you leave the dome light relay wire disconnected, the whole MTS sequence works fine.
I have installed a few of these before and have never ran in to this problem. Any suggestions besides leaving the dome light wire disconnected? You can’t really diode isolate these wires because the ground is coming in to the alarm module for the door trigger and the ground is going out from the relay.
Any help would be great,
Thanks,

If you can use a relay to isolate. Terminal 87 (normally closed) will go to your door trigger input (H2/15), 30 (common) to your door trigger itself, and 87a (normally open) to ground. Now use your dome supervision wire (H2/4) to trigger the relay.

Thank you very much for your idea here and i like it but I have one question, I drew it out on paper and wouldn’t the 87a need to be the door input to the alarm module so it will see it will see ground when active (open a door)? Or am I thinking about this wrong? In the case you described, if you opened the door and the alarm was active, wouldn’t it not know that the door is open?

Whoops, I had my terminals wrong. You are correct. 87a is normally closed, and 87 is normally open.
