There are 2 kinds of bypass modules out on the market for this vehicle ( 1998 - 2002 even the Type-S ) . The keyless type better for security reasons and also is cheaper when it comes down to getting another key to slip into the dash area. The installation is very simple in comparison to the remote starter installation for this vehicle. I will email you some prices for the two systems that we have .

ok well thanks for the info see i needed it quik so i picked up a dei bypass module 555H near my house and i think it will not work in the 99 acura beacause it says it is for a 2002 acura tl. So if you know this module and can help me out with making sure it will work i'll keep it if not then i guess i'll have to get the one that you told me about. I was loking threw a bunch of viper manuals and i dont even see them talking about this particualar module the 555h they keep talking bout a 555u but from what i understand the 555u needs a spare key as well as the module.I really only want the module without the key otherwise id be doing this install for free being those keys are like 100 dollars.

thanks for your help.

The DEI 555H only bypasses for the Acura 2000-2002 according to the tech sheet. I'm not familiar with the DEI product line but from what I can see, this unit is the same as the keyless units that I have installed. To be sure, if the 555H module opens up and there is a ribbone cable that has a loop for a key head, then you need a spare key., otherwise, this will also be a keyless module.

Hey mobiletoys2002,

Everything I've seen from other manufacturers say that the 98 to present TL's have the same data so my guess is that it'll work.

By the way the 555H is a keyless bypass.  imobilizer in 99 acura tl 3.2 help -- posted image.

Ok big dog i have been thinking of taking the chance i may go ahead and give it a try .I think it will work but i just dont want anything to go wrong.i have been reading about transponder bypasses and i see no reason why it will not work this particualar one reads the original key and remembers the info so the reciever thinks the key is in when remote starting. Unless acura changed something in their transponder system from 99 to 2001 i dont know . But thanks anyway i apreciate your response.imobilizer in 99 acura tl 3.2 help -- posted image.

Hey , mobiletoys2002, make sure you use the GREY key not the black key. The transponder bypass will not work with the black key.
