i posted earlier about the transponder issue with the 99 acura tl . Now here is a question for you that module i was talking bout the viper 555t that module is the keyless type and from reading the directions it takes the code from the original key and remebers it and resends it to the transponder reciever whenever remote started. Now the question is why would that not work? Is it a different coding sytem from 99 to year 2001? I was hoping you could clear this up for me cause im thinking about taking a chance with it .Can it hurt to take that chance or will the car just not start? Please help me understand this issue i dont totally understand the transponder system but i see no reason why it would not work if the bypass module learns the code from the original key.

Is the 555H, 555T and the 555I all the same ? I see these model numbers and they all are the same according to the tech sheets... any way, I did not say that this would not work , the basis of the transponder bypass is to replicate the resistance in the key. I meantioned that the tech sheet information from DEI stated that the bypass module 555H only stated that the 2000-2002 TL's but not the 1999's. It will not hurt the transponder key to try this out, the only thing is that if it does not work ( but I can't see it not working ) then you have a used bypass module and also a half finished install velocity maybe you can answer this for me -- posted image.

Here is some information on how to confirm the modules that we sell with Honda's/Acura's that require the bypass:

If installing remote start on a vehicle that is not on the compatibility list below then verify if the GREEN plug coming from the transponder ring from around the ignition cylinder has "4" wires, if it does the then the transponder bypass should work on the vehicle.

You see velocity i did the car already and got paid with the customers understanding that I would finish this remote start when I got the parts I need to complete the install. The guy was going on vacation and did not want to leave his car whithout an  alarm so I put it in anyways even though I had no bypass for it. Now im screwed if I dont get it done and if i need a stupid key then I will lose money so im in a bit of a jamb. THis car is a nightmare I swear. So this is the reason why im willing to try the 555T cause I really dont want to get a key from the dealer. worst thing that can happen is a get stuck for a 30 dollar module which i'll probably be able to use on another car.  Thanks velocity you have helped me understand these transponders much better. And i guess you understand my problem know a little better. thanks again

OUCH !! Yah, I see your dilemna about the key. I think those keys are about $ 120.00 Cdn $$ and you need the registered owner and VIN number of the car to order one from Acura ( for obvious reasons ). If you end up having the 555T bypass not working , give me a shout and I'll ship the bypass that I install for you ASAP. I installed it into a Type-S TL this past year ( 2002 ) and it worked fine for the customer.
