I have a Avant Guard 4 and I'm trying to install the after market Spal power door lock kit. My question is: I hooked up my Digital Multimeter red lead to 12v contant and the black lead to each of the 6 leads out of the Avant Guard 4 to see if I get anything when I try  and lock the door with the remote. I get nothing out of any of the power door leads from the alarm.

What am I doing wrong?

Is it something with the alarm?

Or something that needs to be programed into it?

Please help.

Try GROUNDING the BLACK lead and testing the RED lead to the wires. The SPAL might use a (+) Type B system instead of the traditional (-) Type A systems found in most KE & alarm systems.

Door locks work fine. My problem is interfacing with alarm. I dont get anything out from the alarm? should I see 12volt ground pulse when I arm?

Tried all six wires from the avantguard and I get nothing on the multimeter when I arm disarm.
