door trigger/trunk trigger

Is it possible to use the door trigger wire on an Audiovox Prestige aps-255 also as a trunk trigger? I'm thinking of trying to hook the negative door trigger wire that's hooked up to my door light circuit to the trunk light circuit at the same time. Would this require a resistor or something?K-Dog

It will require 2 1N4001 1 amp rated diodes... Hook each diode into the source wires (door trigger and trunk tirrger wires) from the car, band side of the diodes facing those wires, then connect the other side of the diodes to the door trigger wire on alarm. I usually twist the non-band sides of the diodes together and make a "Y" pattern with the band sides, know what I mean? By the way, should you be using the Dark Green wire on the alarm for your hood/trunk switches? You would have to diode isolate them as I said before, but then you could use the door trigger wire just for the door and the trunk/hood wire on the alarm to catch your hood pin and trunk wires. Just a suggestion on how you're "supposed" to do it..

I've done this before and not isolated. I suddenly had a "trunk open" warning light in the dash (actually the door ajar light). I like it and left it. That is until the pin switch moved or rusted or something and the light stayed on not matter what! >)
