what is the preferred method of mounting shock sensors for alarms?  i just installed a black widow 4150 on an 84 caprice and it wounld only pick up shocks from the pillar behind the front seats.  the sensativity was all the way up too.  should the shock sensor be mounted to the chasis or bundled with a branch of wiring?  i could rock the car and kick the tires with out triggering the alarm, but if you kocked the pillars at all it would instant trigger.  it would warn on some windshield knocks but not trigger.

First rocking the car will not set off a shock sensor ( shock=impact). I mount shock sensors to a stiff wire bundle. There are also shock sensors that are meant to be mounted to the chassis.

good call.  ill have to play around with it with the vehicle comes back in.  the instant trigger for the doors/hood/trunk areny hooked up.  the pin switches in the doors are corroded out and he wants to add a mercury switch to the trunk.  ill be able to play with the shock sensor and see if what you guys recommend will help.

I've always tied shock sensors to the main ignition harness with a large tie wrap.  This has always given me the best results, and allows some flexibility with mounting.
