I installed a viper 500+ on my excursion, the alarm is working good, but when I unlock or disarm the alarm, open the driver door and close the door again, if I arm or activate the alarm the interior lights stays on for a while and I get a second chirp from the alarm, like something still open.  does anyone knows what wire I need to use for the illumated entry, obviously I'm using the wrong one.  Please advise.

Thanks

lmo

Hey. Sounds normal like the alarm is just reading the domelight delay. Assuming you have the alarm + door trigger hooked to the domelight wire. Should be the BLACK/ blue (+) wire located underneath the drivers door sill plate about half way down. There is a small harness that comes from the rear and goes in under the drivers seat. Usually the second chirp comes when the domelight finally goes out to let you know the alarm set. If you close and lock the doors and wait for the domelights to go out and hit unlock, do the domelights come on? Not real familiar with Viper but I think they usually have you add an external relay for dome sup since the supplied wire is only a (-) 200mA output. Hope that helps,
Mike

I will check to see the wire i used for the dome light, but the chirp that I get is because the dome light stays on after I open the drivers door, and yes the dome lights comes on when I unlock the doors.  I used a relay for the dome lights.

Thanks
