I just bought a used 92 4runner and it came with an alarm system with no instructions on how to use it.  There is a little toggle switch on the left of the steering wheel on the dash with horn defeat and valet mode on either side of the switch, and it says toyota.  At one point the thing wouldnt let me start my car so i took the switch out from the dash and cut a few wires, and not it operates perfectly.  This completely puzzles me so if anyone has a wiring diagram or wire color guide for this model it would be very helpful.  There were 5 wires going into the back of the switch i think and I cut the grey and red ones.   Thanks in advance for your help.         -Bill

trace the wires to the module and tell us what is on the casing as far as writing or engraving.

Where would the module be located, in the engine compartment, or near the fuses?

Probably near the fuses, but you have to trace the wires up into the drivers dash or whereever the installer placed the brain of the system.
