I recently had a remote starter installed professionally and it doesn't work properly. The lights flassh 4 times when I try to use the remote. I always have to switch the valet switch back and forth to reset the unit inorder for me to utilise the remote starter. The installer said that this unit is prone to Tack Lock Out and that I should send it back and hope that I get a good one next time. Is there a fix for this or should I buy a different make/model. If you could offer some advise and/or another model, I would appreciate it. I may buy a 3200 and swap it myself if they are reliable and the wiring is the same. I have the door lock function active as well.

Thanks

hi the 4 times flash is brake detected during crank so the tach is not your problem if it is in a 99 windstar or some other fords the brake wire has to be relay isolated sometimes had one do the same thing brakes would show 3 volts during start and would shut down the fix i found was to relay isolate brake wire the retst of the brakelights cruise etc worked fine.  test for power at brake wire im guessing thats your problem.

good luck

I have a 2000 Dodge Ram 4X4 with cruise and air. The remote will work after I reset the valet switch. Could it be something else.

Thanks;
