hello, i am a newbie here. i know enough to wire in a few keyless entry systems and do lots of other general electrical work, but i can get confused with the relays/diodes, etc when im trying to do alarm stuff. i have done searches on my topics, so no flames please. if i missed something, please feel free to refer me to it. :-)
i am going to install a crimestopper fm2015 in my g/f' s 94 camaro. first off, can anyone tell me where to access (for free hopefully) the wiring diagrams for the car. i have looked you this site's stuff, but want to know info like what set up the door locks are (reverse, 5 wire, etc). i am real good at following directions, but not confident enough to wing it. LOL if anyone has tips that are camaro specific, please tell (i.e., where to hide the brain, etc. i wont tell. :-)).
i would like to wire in a separate fuel pump kill switch (separate from the alarm. as you have said, the alarm is only as effective as the installer, and im not great, so i want back up). i read this and thought it sounded good. :

i like that it only kills the pump in the event that the car is started with the switch on (of course). i need the car to be reliable for her (i dont mind playing with switches, relays etc in my cars when they die cuz i know how to bypass them. she doesnt). i use bosche relays, but havent found real good switches. on my cars, i have to replace them once a year or so, as they die out. any brands that are great?
is this the best way to do it? i have some extra starter kill relays and sockets, and while i understand how SPDT relays work, im not great with the starter kill ones (all i know about diodes is that some [blocking diodes], like the 4001's are like a one way valve. i used them on the radar sensor in the shock circuit on my mustang convertible). if using a starter kill relay would be more reliable (less likely to ever fail), i will do that. please tell me how to wire it in. do relays ever fail in the "at rest" paths (i.e., like with door locks that run the oe wire through 87A and 30. does this ever fail or just the engergizing part [like 30 to 87])?
i would also like to set up a relay to kill the power door lock switches when the alarm is on (or when the ignition is off, whichever you think is best). problem i see with latter is that i always hit the locks as i egress from the car, after the key is out. i would like to tie this into either the alarm or the switch i use for fuel kill (i should be able to run a second relay off the starter kill relay output to accomplish this, no? (no need for blocking diodes as the relay for the door locks would protect sharing of juice???). i think i would just use the switch for fuel pump kill in the name of simplicity.
would i stick this relay just upstream of the door lock relays for keyless entry (put the kill more toward the fusebox)? i dont know if the door locks on KE work just as the alarm is turned on or off? see my point? or does it not matter?
lastly (im sorry so many questions), on my other alarm, it came with on board relays for light flash, etc, but i used these outputs as a relay trigger, thinking it would help minimize the wear and tear on the on board relays. is this necessary or overkill? i tend to be anal (like you didnt figure that out yet. LOL). i think the crimestopper has lifetime warranty, but i dont know if it will apply to me since im not having a pro install it. anyone know?
i have several ideas for how to wire stuff, but i dont know what is tried and true and the best. please help me, as i know just enough to be dangerous, but actually know maybe 1% of what you folks do. please feel free to refer me to other sources. and im sure you know easier ways to do this stuff than i have laid out. i know what i know, and i use that to think stuff up. and if anyone needs troubleshooting help with their car engines, drivetrain, etc., let me know. im on stangnet a lot and fairly knowledgable (and if i dont know, i know several "guru's whom will). just shoot me a pm here or there. thank you all very much. sorry so long, but i try to be thorough. thanks again. great forum.
