My alarm isn't working properly.  When I arm it it always beeps 4 times.  I've also hed it go off by itself on a couple of occasions.  I just bout the car and can't figure out what the problem is.  The purple wire on the alarm box seems to cut.  The kid I bought the car from told me he thinks that it is the hood pin but there is no hood pin.  I'm confused.  I will try to find the wiring diagram and install manual but any light you can shed on the problem would help.

You will have to define this to me.

Sounds like this is a defective zone, and the alarm is bypassing it from causing a false alarm.

The sensor is not adjusted properly. Reduce the level of the sensitivity and follow up with impact testing
in all four corners of the vehicle to ensure even coverage is obtained.
If several attempts of adjustments prove not to make a difference, move the sensor and mount it properly.

The purple wire is for (+) positive door trigger. The green wire is for (-) negative door trigger which obviously was determined to be correct for your vehicle.
It is also zone 3 on the alarm.

I would varify that there is indeed NO hood pin there. If not, I would make sure you do have one installed.
No power = No alarm.
Are you sure the system is not actually beeping 5 times? If it is that is the NPC circuit, which zones out defective sensor or zone.

Oh sorry.  What is the NPC Circuit.  Does this alarm have to have a hood pin to work correctly or are you saying that it's a good idea to have one.

Sorry, you can NOT post a reply.
