Hi all,
I'm installing a remote start into a 2001 Grand Am SE. I'm done except for one thing... the hood pin. I've done 5-6 or these things and this has to be the worst car I've ever seen for finding a place to mount a hood pin. I can't find a decent place that isn't in the way of the hood rod, or won't be in a weak plastic piece.
Can anyone give me examples of where they've stuck the hood pin on a Grand Am?
Thanks,
Kevin

Have you tried to see if a bracket can be mounted to the rear of the hood support?
I have seen some people take the area where the hinge is supported as the area for installation.
Just another option.

the cowl lip (just under the hood, ahead of where the wipers are) is a great place to put pins, no matter what the scenario....nice short pin wire, easy access, and out of the way of brutish mechanics and grease monkeys so they don't get broken...

Accele has two different types of brackets that work great! 1-800-788-1212 drop a dime and get hooed up.
Good Luck
