I was wondering if you can hook up a r/s unit to this truck to work off the factory remote,I want to use a Crimestopper unit that will start with 3 neg pulses on a green wire,I know these wires are multiplexed in these trucks,So is it possible to get to the unlock wire on this truck?

I'm not sure if there is an easier way using the databus interfaces or maybe a wire under the dash because I have no wire daigram and haven't installed on anything 2004 yet. If so then someone else please provide him with whatever help you can.
But you can always wire a relay using the door lock motor wire itself. Wire it so that the relay is powered and also supplies a negative out when the door lock motor actuates. Just an idea.

You can use the tan wire inside the driver's door that goes to the door lock actuator. This wire is a positive pulse during unlock so you will need a relay to change it into a negative pulse.

O.K. that's what I was thinking,Tan wire with a relay.
Thanks!Oh,One more thing, the truck will be unlocked during the remote start cycle right? If I hit the lock button after it starts will the factory alarm trigger?

No. The factory alarm won't arm if it sees the ignition on. Check to see if the keyless entry works with the ignition on though. Some do not. You should also see if there is a wire that will pulse after start to re-lock the doors for you. If you haven't purchased the remote starter yet, consider a remote starter with keyless entry. The range of factory remotes can be as little as 30 feet and seldom works beyond 50 feet.

I told the owner about the short range of the factory remotes and he still insists on using them,It saves me the cost and trouble of installing a gmdl4.
