i was looking for the paqrking light wire in this car and could not find it at the fuse bx so i used a wire at the dimmer switch and this wire only changed from 12.50 to about 12.10 with the dimmer.the wire i did not use was the actual dimmer wire this changed from 12 volts to 1 volt or so do you think the wire i used will be ok???

The wire that changed from 12.50 to about 12.10 , did it also turn on and off with the parking lights ? If so, then this will work for what you need. Also, if you wanted to you can use the (-) light trigger RED at the head lamp control unit under the driver side dash.
