Hello Everyone:
I am going to install a Autopage RS-850LCD into my 2002 Xterra. This is my first alarm install so I am doing as much research as posible before I start to take things apart. The car comes with a factory alarm system. I am adding some stingpro window modules to the alarm to control the windows.
I have the service manual for the Xterra so finding the correct wires will not be a problem but there are two things I am not 100% clear on.
First, I do not think that this car has a security key. Can anyone confirm this or point me in the right direction to find out?
Second, As I understand it I sould leave the factory alarm inplace and once I have the new alarm correctly installed it will disarm the factory alarm when the new alarm disarms. Am I correct?
Third, Is there any special concerns I should have installing into this car or anything I should be aware of?
Thanks in advance for taking the time to respond.

well you may have an transponder key for your car the best way to tell is there key ligth that comes on when you start the car if so then you have one. Yes as long as you wire the new alram corectly then it will function properly.

As for all other concerns of the car i will send you the wire sheet
