I am in the process of purchasing an Autopage 850 alarm/remote start for my 2001 GMC Sierra 1500HD pickup that came with the factory keyless entry/security system.  Are there any special circumstances that I should be aware of?   I have read about some Ford vehicles triggering the alarm after a certain amount of time because of a power shutdown.

Is there anything like that relating to the GMC P/U's?
Any help is greatly appreciated.

John

The only thing you have to do with this truck for the door triggers is to diode isolate them from each other and also you will need a bypas module for the remote start for the truck to bypass the Passlock II system it has. Use the PLDATA for easiest bypass module available.

you may encounter the RAP system that keeps your radio on after shutdown.

The factory alarm can be re-armed by pulsing the door lock wire ( + light blue at BCM under steering column) and the driver's doorpin wire ( - tan at the BCM) at the same time. This will also shut off the radio's reatained power circuit.
