The other day I put a remote start in a 2003 Nissan sentra. He didn't get the remote start from me, he got it at advanced auto parts. The problem is that the check engine light comes on and his gauges at times does not work. What I mean is that the engine starts up just fine but when he goes to drive the speedometer and fuel, temp gauge just doesn't work. Everything else in the car is working fine (radio, ac, ...) the thing is that it doesn't do this every time, just some of the time. I first thought maybe a fuse? Check every fuse and not that. I then double and triple checked every wire and everything is hooked up right. Then unhooked the battery and pressed the brake trying to reset the computer, but no luck on anything. Anyone have any ideas or suggestions? Please help thanks mike

Did you use any form of bypass or interface modules on this car ? This happened to me once and it ended up being the bypass module was interfering with the databus communication.

no bypass or anything. the car didn't have any kind of anti-thieft device.

u might need to bring extra power to the starter by adding a relay since some starters don't give power to starter...thus causing the engine light to go on.
