dei alarm proplems

   I bought a used 94 s10 pick up 4 wheele drive,and it has a sself contained dei hornet  alarm sys on it. it did not work so i have ben trying to find out what wrong with it. i think its a 726,but ill give little decrieption.its just a siren with wires comeing out of it and a plug, that plugs in to a peice of harness. the led never was lit but when i put a the back up 9 volt battry in the led lit up but no alarm but i was able to turn light out with remote.went out 2 days latter and the led was blinking but could not turn it off with remote.there was one fuse missing but dont have owners manual but is a 10 amp and marked drl. i am a lost pup any help appp!!!!

find the brain of the alarm, it should be under the driver dash somewhere and let us know the model number

the brain is in the siren its a board like a cirkit board

Just throw it away(these are not worth the problems they cause) and get a real alarm. By the way it is probably a Hornet 725T or alike.

I agree with auex, just rip it out and start over. Most self contained alarms arent worth the trouble. Most of them are at most a siren with a built in shock sensor. You should get a real alrm with a brain. Then you'll have more options, like parking light flash, starter kill, keyless entry, etc. For what it would cost you to get new keypads and get the hornet working right, you might as well just buy a new alarm. If price is a major deal, I've seen many basic alarms on ebay for around 40-50 bucks. Brands like prestige, crimestopper, and avital. Just my 2 cents.
