I installed a remote start on my 2001Tacoma crew cab, I can't figure out the wire to hook to get my hvac going. I hooked into the accessory wire at the ign switch, my radio works but not my hvac controls. Help.Scott

what did you do with the BLACK / YELLOW wire this is a second ignition wire that may need to be powered to control your heater controls?

Yep....BLACK / YELLOW is second ignition, and also powers up the climate controls.  I'm surprised it's remote starting at all, without the second ignition hooked up.

The blue/red operates the radio, windshield wipers, et cetera.  You might as well disconnect it from your remote start, so that if you leave your radio set at a high volume, it won't disturb your neighbors in the morning.

What brand of remote starter?  How many "ignition" outputs does it have?

You should be powering powering up BOTH the BLACK/ red and the BLACK / YELLOW as IGNITION wires.  Powering up the blue/red accessory wire isn't necessary, but it doesn't hurt anything either.

Does the truck successfully remote start now?

It is a Jti combo. It has the 2 igntion outputs. One to the BLACK/ red the other to the BLACK / YELLOW. But my question is do I also need to hook the wire up for the Heater/ac controls to the black yellow too?Scott
