I am part way through the installation of a alpine 150r alarm in my 96 ranger and running into some strange problems. I am piggy-backing the factory unit by splicing all the corresonding wires, so some of the trouble may be an incorrect info from my service manual. Currently my problems are:

-factory unit doesn't arm/disarm with alpine EXCEPT when doors are open (wtf?)

-the door switch and dome light connections are reading constant voltage the whole time, so the door trigger is not working and dome light doesn't come on when unlocked

I am not aware of a factory arm and disarm input, are there any way around this? Right now I have lock and unlock circuits doing the arming. Thanks for any halp or advice!

Parking Lamp BROWN (+) AT HEADLIGHT SWITCH (W/O OEM ALARM) *

Power Lock PINK / YELLOW 16 PIN CONNECTOR IN #201

Power Unlock PINK/L GREEN DRIVER KICK PANEL

* With OEM Alarm Parking Lights Are WHITE/ BLACK (+) At Headlight Switch. #201- See Negative Pulse Door Lock Diagram.

Remote Start

Tach Signal TAN / YELLOW AT POWERTRAIN CONTROL MODULE *

Ignition #2 GRAY / YELLOW IGNITION SWITCH HARNESS ** #235

Ignition #3 GRAY / YELLOW IGNITION SWITCH HARNESS **

Accessory BLACK/ L GREEN IGNITION SWITCH HARNESS

Neutral Safety NOT GROUNDING TYPE - OEM SWITCH OPENS STARTER CIRCUIT

Brake Light L GREEN (+) AT SWITCH ABOVE BRAKE PEDAL BRACKET

Reverse Light BLACK/ PINK (+) AT SWITCH ON TRANSMISSION

Rear Window Defrost N/A

* Powertrain Control Module Located On Passenger Rear Of Engine Compartment On Firewall. TAN / YELLOW Wire Also Located In Round Single Pin Tach Test Connector On Driver Rear Of Engine Compartment. ** Both GRAY / YELLOW Wires Must Be Powered For Heat/Ac To Operate. #235- See Powering Extra Ignitions Diagram
