I have an ultrastart 2256M installed on my Pontiac Trans am. Yesterday, the alarm went off in my driveway for no reason, and now, it wont go into reserve mode. It has locked the doors when I put the key in, which I do not have it programmed to do. Has it gone bad? Is this common?

I had a lot of ultra starts goe bad.1250tl and 2250........what they do is just go into valet mode whenever they feel like it..............I usually just swap them out for a autostart.....which I've never seen a bad one yet.

Does the autostart hook up to the ultrastart plugs or do I have to do another install or splice wires? So, this is common with ultrastarts? What causes them to do this?

Can I fix it, or does the brain have to be replaced?
