I have quirky issue. Heres the info:

Installed a DEI (Valet Model) K/E R/S in a 2001 Silverado. All is fine except the security system will only work if I lock the vehicle with the drivers door open with the DEI remote. I can see the security light go from flash to solid. If I do that and leave the window down, unlock manual and open the door the alarm goes off.

However if I close the drivers door and lock the truck, no security light and the alarm does not go off.

If I use the factory key fob the system will arm on both door open and closed? I have the (-) LGreen wire  disarm hooked up and I could not find any info on an arming wire, except "lock arms the alarm" system.

Has anyone run into this or have any suggestions? Thanks in advance.

All done?

You need to pulse the driver's doorpin wire and the lock wire at the same time. The doorpin wire is in the BCM (under steering column) in the far right plug. It is the tan wire in position B4. It is a negative trigger. Use a relay activated by your door lock wire to send a pulse to this wire. This will allow your alarm to arm.
