I need to install a remote start into a customer's 03 F250, A/T, diesel.

I normally install cell-phone kits, 2-way radios, and police lights/sirens- but it's been a decade or so since I installed an alarm.

The vehicle has factory keyless entry, but does not have the special anti-theft keys.  The customer really doesn't care much about the security of an alarm, but wants the convienence of the auto start.

I've read that there are "plug and play" alarm systems, but don't know where to find such an animal.  I'm concerned that otherwise I'll take too long, and don't feel it's right for the cust to pay ($) for my alarm inexperience.  I'm also not real excited about hurting the company bottom line by not charging for time spent.

Sooo- any suggestions on alarm brands, models, styles, etc?  Any other gotchas that I should be concerned with?

Thanks for your help.

Plug and play? Some companies make a "t harness" but you aren't going to find a full remote start that is plug and play.

There is not plug and play for a RS for your truck. There are keyless entry with RS, no security.

Thanks for the replies.

What companies would offer a T harness?

The idea of RS and doorlock without alarm is interesting, I'll find out if maybe that would work best.  I'm guessing he'll decide to alarm it anyway.
