I have a CrimeStopper RS999FM in my 2002 Grand Prix. The problem is that using the factory security system in conjunction with the Remote Start seems clunky. In talking with CrimeStopper tech support I need to do something like enable the factory security before exiting hte vehicle, then close the drivers door then remember not to lock the doors if they are already locked otherwise the alarm will go off. This won't do much to make me popular with my neighbors. Is there a more "seamless" way to make the factory security system work with the 999FM unit? For now, I have the factory security disabled.

Do you have keyless entry on the system with the OEM security ? Doesn't the OEM alarm Remote FOB already arm the car when you lock the doors ?

I am using hte keyless entry feature on the Crimestopper unit in place of the OEM system. I chose this instead of an add-on system primariy due to the range of the aftermarket system and the 2 way paging capability that will inform you of a sucessful start, etc. The trouble I am having is the integration of hte factory content theft system and hte RS999FM seems awkward as my original post details. Can this be fixed ??

All you need to do is hookup the factory alarm disarm (-) wire from your crimestopper unit to the factory alarm disarm wire in the car (ORANGE / black, (-) @ drivers kick panel or door boot harness). This way anytime you attempt to use the crimestopper unit it will disarm the factory alarm and take care of your problem. Good luck,
Mike

Mike,

My problem is ARMING not DISARMING the factory security. As my originial post states, the arming sequences are weird and according to CS Tech support, if I arm the factory security while the door is open then close the door I have to remember not to lock the doors again while factory security is set or the alarm will go off. The integration of my RS and hte factory security seems clunky. For now, I have the OEM security disabled and all is well and my neighbors still like me.

The OEM arm is a TAN (-) wire at the driver's door pin at the BCM. This is all the information that my datasheet tells me. This is for the 2 and 4 door models.
