I'm new to this forum and already very impressed with the knowledge here!

I'm considering a Clifford G5 Arrow 5 for my 1995 Mercedes C220.  However, I'd like the forum's input prior to purchasing and installing the unit.  (BTW, I don't need remote start.)  I'm primarily looking for a solid basic alarm.

Will this unit work with the vacuum door locks?

Are there wiring diagrams available for the C220 or any other information for installing this alarm specifically in my car?

I appeciate any assistance!

This is the installation manual for the alarm in question, assuming you are selecting this one.

Great information!  Thank you for all the feedback.

A couple more questions popped up.

1) Door locks: Do I use the procedure documented for vacuum locks in the Arrow 5 installation manual (and this website) or use the information in note201.pdf above? (They seem very different.)

2) Alarm wiring information above: Are these the recommended wires I use for a Clifford (or other non-Mercedes) alarm installation, or are these the wires used for a mercedes factory alarm?

3) Clifford 509-U interior sensor: I like the option of protecting entry to the car through an open sun roof or window.  What information is available for this sensor?  Any experiences out there that you can share? (I've had something similar on another car with an Alpine alarm - 8058 I believe.)

Again, I appreciate any feedback provided!

1. Use the information as it pertains to vacuum locks.
2. These are the exact wires which you need to interface to the vehicle so as the alarm will function. It is indeed specific to your vehicle.
3. I do not have any information as it pertains to this device.

Thank you again!

I was wondering about one other thing.  The vacuum lock doucmentation mentions a single wire that changes polarity depending on lock status.  However, the wiring info mentions two wires:

Power Lock:

   BLACK
DRIVER'S KICK PANEL ***
Power Unlock:
   BLUE
DRIVER'S KICK PANEL ***

Can I use either wire for this purpose?  Or do I need to locate a different wire for the vacuum pump?

Thanks,

Jeff
