I am installing keyless entry in my 97 F150. I am having a bit of difficulty. I followed the wires from the door lock on the passenger side down to the passenger kick panel. I attached the wires according to what I thought they should be. I can hear the relay click in the keyless entry module, but the locks do not cycle. I was wondering if my truck has a 5 wire reverse polarity system. Also is it okay to tap into the wires in the kick panel, or do they need to be tapped into right below the switch? Any help would be great. The module came fromJCWhitney.
This is the wiring on the module.
Switch side lock
Module side lock
Switch side unlock
Module side unlock
Ground wire
Constant 12V
Polarity input wire-instructions state to wire this into the Constant 12V
I hooked up the wires in the passenger kick panel. I put the switch side lock with the wire that has a positive test light after being cut, and did the same on the unlock wire. I then hooked up the other half of the wires, being sure they were on the same relay with the module side. The ground to the chassis and constant 12V to a constant power source.
When I do this, I can hear the relay's function when I push the the remote buttons, but the locks do not cycle. The thing is when I push and hold down the lock or unlock button on the truck, and then push the remote lock or unlock, the relay functions, and the locks on the truck attempt to cycle.
I don't know if I need a different module, or if some of the wires need to be switch, but this 30 dollar keyless entry is getting somewhat frustrating.
Thanks for the help
Tim

If your truck came withOUT Factory Keyless Entry ...It IS a 5 Wire Reversal Rest At Ground

U can get the wires either at switch or Kick Panel
If it is JUST a Keyless Entry some people put everything in the door

Power LockPINK / YELLOWDRIVER KICK *
Power UnlockPINK/L GREENPANEL
* Without OEM Keyless Entry   Reversal Rest At Ground Door Locks
Negative Pulse Door Lock  wth OEM Keyless Entry

I wired the keyless entry as shown, but it still doesn't work.  I believe that there is a problem with the keyless module itself.

Am I correct in thinking that there should be a positive output from the wires that come from the module that attach to the actuator side of wires that I cut?  When I tested my module, there is continuity from the 30 and 87a sides of the relay.  When the relay is activated, the continuity is broken.  The problem is there is no positive output from the other side of the relay when activated.

I am t hinking about returning the module if this is correct and get a new one.

Thanks

Tim

If U cut wires on passenger side.......Did U check wire output from Passenger switch? If so U may need to reverse your Switch / Motor wires.
