I have a customer who's seeking to have a Prestige Platinum APS-996(a) installed on a 2003 Benz C240.  I'm not particularly a fan of working on German and European cars, but I have considered doing this one since this is a very close repeat customer.

Does any one have any advice for putting a remote start on this car?  Is it very difficult, should I stay away from this.

Any tips would be greatly appreciated.  Thanks in advance.

What kind of key does he have? If smart key then tell him can't be done. You can only do the ones that have the blade type key.

Just to make sure, the smartkey is the key that flips open by pushing the button?

If I recall correctly, the smartkey is a FOB style key..it does not have a key per se, more like a plastic rectangular tip that has an RFID tag that scrambles encryption randomly.. It will unlock the car within proximity and lock when leaving proximity. You just stick the key into a holder in the dash where a normal ignition would be. This system is very complex and impossible to steal..or at least not worth a thief's time unless he is carjacking you.
The flipkey is just a regular key thta folds obviously to prevent jabbing you..or to be used as a jabber..
