I have a remote start installed and working, but if i try to start the car and the factory alarm has been set it will set off the alarm. I was wondering if i could just take out the alarm, but keep the power doors and locks to hook up to my new alarm. I found a harness down on the passengers side that when i unplug the locks and everything quit functioning. How would I go about wiring the locks but disarming the factory alarm?

I checked even though i dont know what kind of vehicle you got. I guessed a civic or accord. Well i hope you got a accord because i couldnt find any factory alarm info for the civic. Here is what you need to do.

First find out where your going to find the wire. This wire will supply ground when the drivers door is unlocked with the key in the door lock cylinder! If you have a DX you have to run a wire into the drivers door and it is the only blue wire in the big plug for the power windows. If you have a LX its a blue wire found under driver side of dash. No matter what kind of car you have test for this wire BEFOUR you connect to it!!!!!!!!

As for your remote start system i dont know what kind it is but i can tell you that you need to find a wire that outputs a positive or negative pulse as soon as you push the button to start the car and then wire a relay to supply the ground to the factory disarm wire.

   2000 Accord

Disarm No Unlock blue  -
Notes: On the EX the wire is located at the drivers power window switch, on the LX the wire is at the keyless/security unit which is attached to the drivers underdash panel.

sorry yes it's an accord. i unplugged the harness under the passengers side so the power lock and alarm doesn't work so now i can remote start from wherever with my car locked and just unlock it when i get to the car. but i have a mannix car alarm and i need to hook up the power lock/unlock and trunk release for the mannix alarm. i have a door control wire that will do a blue wire to -Unlock, + Lock output then a gray wire that will be -2nd unlock output and a Green that will do + unlock and - lock
