I need some clarification for the door triggers on the H2.

I am installing an alarm only with no remote start. I understand that wire codes call out tapping into the driver's and passengers door modules, and the BCM for the rear doors. However, this is a little painful with having to remove the door panels, etc.

Can I tie into the courtesy light instead and save some agravation?

Its a shame no one has really 'tapped' into the class 2 data bus for the door triggers. All these signals get sent back to the network.

Have any of the factory alarm/door lock/unlock modules (ie GMDL4) expanded to control the windows yet?

Yes you can it should be gray/black (+) trigger.

I don't believe there is any databus module for the H2 that will do windows. The GMDL1 does window rollup through the databus, but the H2 isnt applicable with that module. Doesn't mean you can't buy a window module and wire it in yourself though.

Dome Supervision is gray/black + it is in the BCM, black plug, pin E which is behind the headlight switch. the only disadvantage is that the dome light delay will ause the alarm to not arm until the dome light is out. It also depends on which alarm you are using.

The only reason why they suggest tapping into the door trigers seperatly like that is to avoid dome light delay. When you shut the door and then arm the alarm its gonna send back a signal that the door is still open because the lights are still on. Once the lights go off the zone will be closed and the alarm will function fine. I just figured I would tell you so you know what to expect.

Thats what I figured. The domelight stays on for a few seconds after locking the doors. The alarm I am installing is a viper 690xv.

on the windows...does anybody make a databus interface for the Hummer?

Doesnt the DEI one they make for the full size pick ups do it. I thought it was the same platform?
