I'm installing a Polarstart EX-2520TW (aka: Autostart AS-2520TW)Remote Starter into my 93 Ford Explorer XLT (w/o factory keyless)and just want to check 2 things before I hook up the "crank/starter" wire:
1) I noticed that when the ignition switch is in the "run" position, there is a constant 5V going down the "starter" (RED / Light Blue) wire and 12V when the ignition is in the "start/crank" position. Do I need a diode or relay between the vehicle's harness wire(RED / Light Blue) and the remote starter wire (6Pin Harness Purple wire) to prevent the constant 5V from feeding back into the remote starter and causing damage to it? And...
2) Do I need a 40A relay between the vehicle's 2nd Ignition wire (BLACK/ Green) and the Remote Starter's wire (6pin Harness Green wire)?
Thanks in Advance,
Marcus.
