I recently had installed a Compustar 2wss-as in a VW 1997 GTI VR6 with manual transmission, the factory alarm has not been disabled. Sometimes when attempting to start the vehicle through the Compustar 2wss-as, the factory alarm will trigger, the car will not start, and I am not able to turn off the factory alarm through normal means (normally done by inserting key in door and turning). Here's the sequence of events:
-Arm Compustar for remote start
-Hit apporpriate buttons on remote to auto start vehicle
-Compustar will unlock doors (to turn off factory alarm)
-Compustar begins its sequence of events to start vehicle (Dash lights will light up)
-Factory alarm will then go off
-Car fails to start (due to factory alarm)
-Doors lock again
-Unable to disable factory alarm.
Anyone have any ideas what the issue is? Could it be that the compustar is not waiting long enough before attempting to start the car, not giving the factory alarm enough time to disable itself? Any help would be appreciated!
Thanks
Perry

I've got a Compustar 2wss-as installed in a VW 1997 GTI Vr6. The car has a hatch release switch inside which I am trying to get the Compustar 2wss-as to work with consistently. Sometimes it will work and pops the hatch, sometimes not. When hitting the correct button on the remote, I can hear the lock opening, but the hatch will not pop. I think it may not be keeping the lock open long enough for the hatch to pop. Is there a way to adjust the length of time it keeps the lock open?
Thanks
Perry

If it's unlocking the door before remote start, then it should be disarming. Try this.... lockthe door with the key in the door. Now,unlock it with the compustar. Reach in, put the key in the ignition.... turn it to run.... does the alarm go off? If so, then it is not disarming properly. Does it honkwhen you lockit with the Compustar?
