Okay so my first install with the GM-U7 went well- only comment I have is that the seat heaters don't come on until I turn the key on- SO I suppose I should have wired in a third Ignition (I already have the pink for ignition and white for tranny)  I guess I'm somewhat disappointed that no wiring diagram chart says this is necessary, if it is true-- The only wire left is the brown- which I assume needs to be activated during remote start-- Also, the owner commented that he doesn't wish to have passenger side on- he sits his lunch box on that seat.. Nobody is ever 100% happy.  The GM-U7 does the seat heaters automatically when engine coolant temp is below 23 deg at start as I am told-- so should I hook up the brown wire- I have yet to check the service manual wiring schematic to be sure-- Thanks for the feedback- Brcidd

The brown accesory wire MUST be hooked up, or transmission damage can happen

There are several modules for doing the door locks that use the purple wire on the OBD2 connector, that also control the seat heaters. You must turn them on after remote starting the vehicle, with an AUX output from the unit.

Astroflex make an IMHDT1 that does factory security arm and disarm, lock and unlock AND heated seats

No- the module is fine- I just did not know to hook up the brown accessory wire- the GM service Manual shows that the brown wire controls the accessories- The GM-U7 does not offer a +12 volt output for third Ignition (nor does the R/S module, so I can make one with a relay- I was trying to do a completely  relay "free" install- but looks like this is not the case.  I am just disappointed that Crimestopper GM-U7 did not have a note in the install instructions that some vehicles may need to energize ALL big ignition wires to assure that there is power to the seat heaters and mirrors.  I am just used to the pld GM installs where the brown wire did the wipers and radio only- and I always preferred to keep wipers off in case people leave the switch on and there is ice on the windshield the next day.  Thanks for the help
