That's all you need to program a keyless unit unless your using the univertsal bypass module. Here's where I get my keys from: http://www.nvo.com/chipkeys

I plan on using the 555U. With having 2 keys I should be able to by the third and program it Yes/No?

I was told that I would need to put the first key in turn it to the run position untill the theft light goes off, Repeat the same with the second key within 5 seconds, place the third key (not yet programed) into the ignition and remote start the vehicle.

This sounds like it should work if I am using the DEI 555U. I can then place the just programed "uncut key" into the bypass box.

Does this sound right to you. Out off all the bypasses and remote starters I have installed, this is the first situation I have come across where I need to get an extra key and program it.

Thanks

Here's the instructions on how to program a 3rd key : http://www.velocitymotorsport.com/images/install_notes/100.jpg

Personally, I would go with a keyless bypass module and then program it with the 2 existing keys that you have. It's less work (IMO ) and a more secure way of bypassing the PATS on this truck.

Well here is the deal. I was going to go with the DEI 555F module in which only takes 2 keys to program. I was shipped the 555U. Aparently Directed pulled all of the 555F off the shelf due to alot of occuring issues. It seems that these things are tough to get a hold off now. This is why it seems to be eaiser to add a third key.
