First of all, I want to say thanks for this site and all the help it's given me installing my first car alarm system.  It's helped tremendously!!

I just installed an Alpine SEC-150R into my 2001 Chevy S10.  Everything went in as planned, excpet that every once in a while when I disarm the alarm the OEM alarm starts honking the horn.  Of course, since I don't carry the OEM transmitter around with me any more I have to get in and turn on the ignition to get the horn to stop.

I looked up the factory alarm disarm information, which told me it's a light green wire in the purple plug at the BCM.  Anyway, I tried cutting this wire but the factory alarm still worked.  I spliced it back together and left it intact.

What do I need to do to disable the OEM alarm?  I searched like crazy but I can't find the exact answer I'm looking for.

Thanks in advance, Tony
