was installing a alarm on my friends car.  it is a 1990 acura integra.  i spliced in the brake + wire from the alarm on the the brake GREEN / WHITE wire on the brake switch so right when the brake is press even with the alarm off the brake fuse from under the hood blows.  blew about 6 fuses so far even tired higher fuse amps and still blows.   so right now the brake + wire from the alarm is just not connected.  what can i do to stop it from blowing?  is there a alternate wire i can use instead of the brake wire?

sounds like there either might be something wrong with your alarm or you might have the wrong wire. it  sounds like the fuse doesn't blow when the wire is disconnected but when you hook it up it blows the fuse is that right? I would double check your alarm wiring just to be sure you have the right wire. also what alarm?

the alarm is a 791xv.  when its hooked up the fuse blows and when its not hook up it works fine when stepping on the brake pedal.  im 100% sure i got the right wire, its the brown brake + wire from the alarm harness.  isnt it suppose to go to the brake switch harness? its hooked up the the GREEN / WHITE wire.  i think there is another green wire but it is a solid light green wire.  not sure whats wrong its hooked up to the same spot as on my 2000 civic with the same alarm.

I can't believe how many ppl on these forums take the wiring diagrams and hook up alarms without testing the wires.

Just wait a couple years and they have newer cars and we will see lots of burned up BCMs......
