I installed a remote starter and connected the factory alarm shutdown wire to the light green wire low in the drivers side kick panel But when the doors are locked and I use the remote starter the alarm goes off. Since the car does start I believe I have the VATS bypassed correctly? Am I correct in thinking I may have the wrong light green wire?

You need to confirm the wire with the Key Switch in the door.  When you UNLock the door with the key, it should show GROUND in the UNLock position.  Otherwise, confirm you are getting a GROUND when you Remote Start.
