I have a 1996 Dodge 1500 Ram and have attempted to install an older Viper system with no positive results. I succeeded in getting the remote start to work but after approx 20 seconds the relay shuts the engine down. i did have to install another relay for the 2nd ignition coming from the ignition switch and believe it is operating properly. I am fairly new to alarm/starter installs but am knowledgeable with vehicle electronics as i am a mechanic. am i overlooking something obvious or is it a more technical issue? any assistance in this matter is greatly apreciated.

thank you for the info it is appreciated. what i am not sure of however is which wires on the alarm and relay pack go to which wires in the vehicle and where to run the 2 starter kill wires coming from the alarm module. the alarm is not a problem to hook up it is the remote start relay pack i am having trouble with. and thank you again for the wiring color coding for my truck it will come in handy.
