Installing a remote entry (no alarm - Black Widow) on a 2000 Stratus.  Have printed the Security Information to assist.  See "Lock - WHITE/ Dark Green at BCM".  What/Where is BCM?  Also, do I need relays to hook up wires for Horn, and Dome Light?

Many thanks for assistance!

One database I have shows WHITE/ Green in rear of fuse/relay box in drivers side kick panel, Another shows Brown 16 pin plug in drivers kick. Both say to use positive (+) trigger thru a 620 ohm resistor to lock, and a positive (+) trigger thru a 2.7K ohm resistor to unlock. Must use relays.

Typically you do not need a relay for the horn if you grab it in the steering column, But typically Yes to the dome light.  Refer to your install manual,. they usually recommend a relay.

  • Use positive (+) trigger thru a 620 ohm resistor to lock, and a positive (+) trigger thru a 2.7K ohm resistor to unlock. Must use relays to tap into the WHITE/ GREEN wire. BCM located behind right side dash
  • HORN TRIGGER---------BLACK/ red  This is a (-) trigger wire ( no relay required for this vehicle )
  • Factory Alarm disarm: Lt.GREEN/ orange at the BCM and this is a (+) pulsed wire ( if applicable ). Lt. GREEN/ orange from driver's door or dk. GREEN/ orange from passenger or catch either at BCM located behind right side dash. Use a positive (+) trigger thru a 940 ohm resistor to arm, and a positive (+) trigger thru a 470 ohm resistor to disarm. Must use relays.

Thanks for your help gentlemen.  What I don't understand is, when you buy a remote entry kit doesn't it already have everything you need to install it?  I thought it was a matter of splicing in one wire to the "lock" side, one wire to the "unlock" side, a couple wires to "hot", a couple wires to "neg", one wire to the dome and one to the horn.  It's a Black Widow BW852.

When you say use (+) triggers thru _ohm resisters, do you mean I have to buy separate materials?  Isn't this all included in the "box and fobs" provided by Black Widow?  I know I'm sounding stupid and I apologize for that.... this was a gift to my mom from a friend of hers and I was just trying to put it in for her.  Otherwise, it'll never be used.

Thanks again for your help!

Not every car is the same. If you had a different car then you might  have everything you needed.  All you need is two relays and two resistors, Radio shack for less than $15, and 1 more relay if you want to have domelight supervision.
