I have a 1996 Nissan Maxima.  I got a Viper 791XV installed in it.  When ever the hood is opened I cannot start the car with the remote (which is a normal safety feature).  The other night I guess I tried starting it with the hood open and the remote start wouldn't work for hours after that.  Everything else works perfectly with the system.  I can start the car with the key.  It started working again, but then the hood was open and now it's malfuctioning.  When I lock/arm the car the LED screen shows the hood is open when it's actually closed.  That disables me from remote starting the car.  The blue LED flashes 6 times.  I guess that means it's in "shut down mode" or something like that.  I fooled around with the toggle and push switches, but nothing happend.  What can I do to fix this?

Thanks, Aaron

Sounds like there's something wrong with the hood pin switch.  Best bet is if you had it installed professionally have the shop that did it fix the switch.

Yes, I did have it installed professionally.  I will go down there tomorrow.  But, it worked now it doesn't.  It's making me mad.  So it doesn't seem like there is a way to fix this?  Anyone else have this problem?

It's not a major problem.  You could alway disconnect the hood switch if you wanted to.  Since you had it done professionally though I wouldn't recommend messing with it too much since a lot of shops are finicky about warrantying an install if someone else has been screwing around with it.
