I am doing a remote start on a 2001 Ford Taurus this weekend. I will be installing a Crimestopper RS900VII with a PKF3 bypass. I always like to ask if there is anything I need to look out for before doing the install.
Are the wires hard to access? Hard to find? Etc?
Thanks!

All wires are very easy to access. Only thing is the hood pin switch ( if you need to add one ) is hard to find a place for if you don't have a hood pin switch bracket. The entire front support is made of fiberglass. You will need to attach it to the fender on the driver side.
The PATS module interface is easy, but just make sure that the TX & RX wires that you connect to is right. IT will be the DARK TAN/ORANGE ( Pin 3) and the WHITE/ LIGHT GREEN ( Pin 4 ) on the Taurus.
Use the injector wire for the tach signal and also all the wires are basically at the GEM module to the left of the brake pedal.

I get tach on the inside on that car. Tan / YELLOW if I remember correctly at the big plug above the hood release handle. I think Chris Luongo told me that trick. Running wires through the firewall on that car sucks.

The Crimestoppers have "smart tachless" feature and I rarely have to hook up a tach wire.. Hopefully this one will be the same.
Thanks for the replies.

Jeff, do you sell CompuSTAR units or just install them?
