As X-mas approaches so do the waves of RS installs. An old (unsolved) problem from a year ago is here again.
For some reason on 03-04 Escapes when the car is remote started, the remote fails to work afterwards. I'll reiterate the closed topic of a year ago...
-Car can be unlocked/locked just fine with engine off.
-If car is RSed, they key can be inserted and taken-over with no problems.
-If started normally, the RS can be used to remove the key and maintain a running engine.
-However, while the car is RSed the FOB will be unable to communicate with the brain.
It was suggested that something on the accessory circuit may be causing an "RF blanket" while RSed. I've checked every possible device with no luck. And besides, if the car is running with the key in the ignition, the FOB works 100%.
This narrows it down to the 555U.
I've made sure that the antenna wire is well clear of the 555U box. I'm almost positive that while the 555U box is energized, its signal is interfering with the Viper FOB. Is it just dumb luck that every once in a while I get a OEM key that when energized is on the same frequency as the Viper?
What should I do?
Get some sort of RF shield to put around the ignition?
Try using a differnt bypass box?
I know others have had this problem... we need a resolution! Viper 791 & 555U Interference -- posted image.

Some newer fords are equiped with slam lock. you need to bypass it and not use the factory keypad anymore (if used ever)

did u try to use a 555sw and see if that works instead of the 555u?

Also did u wire the keysense wire up properly?

Where theres is a wire there's a way.

I have not tried the 555sw, and yes, the ketsense wire is in correctly.

Me: "Yes I have, with the 556U unplugged the FOB works"
Well I tried this again and this time FOB does NOT work.
I actually did it twice with no luck.
One time with a key in and RSing
One time with no key in and attempting to RS. The theft light blinks, the car obviously does not start and even with the engine off and only the accessory circuit on, the FOB is STILL dead.
This eliminates the following from being the cause:
a) The Engine being running
b) the 556U box
c) key in or out
I'm left with the brain and the accessory circuit.
Anyone?
