Quick background - I've been installing car audio (not alarms / starters) for the last 15 years and entered a few competiitions.  I really enjoy my sounds so I'm familar with the basics of wiring and stuff.

However, I installed a Bulldog rs82 remote starter with the FD-1 T-harness and 791 module and transponder key into my wifes 1998 Mercury Sable.  The starter works ok without any problems, but the car no longer starts using only the ignition key....  The dash turns on and when the key is turned to start the car does nothing.  If I hit the button on the remote to start the car it fires up without any problems.  I called tech support and after 46 minutes on hold the guy told me its a fuse under the hood.  I looked and couldn't find anything wrong.

So that lead me here to a group of people who know what they are talking about.  Can anyone help me figure out what the heck I did wrong or what is wrong with the car?  I thought I followed the install directions perfectly...

Thank you for your help and Merry Christmas.

Did you install a Starter Disable with the Remote Start?

I don't think so.  It only came with the control module and I added the transponder key and module to allow it to start remotely.  The remote starter directions did not indicate anything in that regards.  Also, Bulldog Tech support didn't mention anything else.  Thanks for you reply.

How was the Bulldog Starter wire hook up??  Did you cut & Splice or just Splice into the RED / L. Blue Starter wire?

I used the Ford T-Harness.  It basically plugs into the factory harness and the other end plugs into the remote starter module.

Is your 791 module on all the time?  If so, your car is reading two keys at once and will not start.  The bypass module should only be on during remote start.
