Hi, i'm going to install for the first time a remote starter in my 98 Caravan.  What should I know to do a good job ? I got the wiring diagram of my car, but I don't have the installation manual of my remote starter... What do I need to BASICLY remote start my car ? Power the main control, plug the interrupt inputs, plug the ignition/starter on the main control, plug the parking lights with a relay, receiver, main switch, then ? How many relays do I need to do the job ? I think the only one I need is for the parking lights, right ?  I don't use any special output, door/lock, etc... Just want to start the car...

Thanks !  And mmm... sorry, I need to practice my english, so don't care about it. ;)

First I would probably try and find an install manual.  Just to verify the wire colors and what connections need to be made for that peticular alarm.

I forgot to tell you that I could normally finish the job w/o the manual, because the principal wiring/color are on the back of the remote starter main module...  All I need to know is how many relay do I need to complete the job, and a reply to confirm that my original post is correct.

Ok. If there are relays built in you wouldn't need any for the remote start ( there would be some big wires coming out of the alarm or there would be inputs on the side for  female connectors) If you just had outputs for the relays then you would need a relay for every ignition wire and accesory wire in the ignition harness ( you said you had a wiring diagram so one relay per ign/acc listed).   You would also need one relay for the starter wire. You would also need one for starter kill if you are using this feature of the alarm.  Depending on the alarm you may or may not need one for the parking lights ( depends if the alarm supplies a low level -output for the lights or a positive output for the lights ).  Then you would need to hook up the brakes and a hood pin to shut the remote start down and a tach wire to the car so the alarm will know when it is running.  The alarm will probably need to have the tach learned ( another helpful thing found in the alarm install manual ).  You may want to post what kind of alarm you have and see if any one knows how to do this.
