Door Locks and Autopage RF-315

Hi, Im Installing Pwr Door Locks and an Autopage RF 315 into a 2004 Dodge Dakota. Everything is wired up and working except for the door locks. I have tried the three wire positive and negative, the setup found here for polarity changing and actuators, changing the polarity individually, and stepping up the voltage straight from the alarm (as found in a thread here). None of these seem to work. Locks work when hooked up to a batt. and the alarm is still giving readings good readings and are in accordance to the manual (green +lock -unlock, Blue +unlock - lock) Thanks in advance for the help.

If you are adding door lock actuators you will need 2 relays to control them. The output from the brain of the system uses transistors to supply the + and - outputs, this is not enough power to drive door lock actuators. Using the Green for unlock trigger and the Blue for lock trigger (the - outputs) with the "actuators/reverse polarity" diagram shown on this page. Don't forget to fuse the supply wire!

yeah, thats what i did, the relay seems to trip but power is going to the actuators. even when multitested. . .nada, tried it on two sets of relays. . . . im electrically cursed

You mentioned that the actuators operate fine if you touch the leads directly to the battery. This leads me to believe that you may have a wiring issue at the relay wiring. Keep in mind that your system NEEDS to rest at ground to provide the actuator with a solid negative connection. Make sure that your ground connection is good and can handle a decent current.

when i touch the lead (normally from the alarm)from the relay to the chassis the relays trip, but no current to either of the pins. i wasnt using a ground on 87a but i was using the setup that 2 local installers told me to use. If i cant figure this out by friday im bringing it in and paying one of them 50 >:O to fix it. Oh and a good 200Ma is coming from the alarm when i lock/unlock accordingly. Thanx again for the help

That diagram shown here is the correct way to wire it. It NEEDS to have chassis ground to 87a...if everything else is correct to this diagram then it will work.

um yeah . . i grounded that and blew a fuse. . . . so somethings nto right. . . ill draw a diagram of what ive got and get it up here

If you blew a fuse, then it sounds like you have the connections to 30 and 87 reversed. Posting the diagram sounds like a good idea.
