police sirens are different than standard alarm sirens. They are more like a regular amp/speaker setup. The control box/amp goes inside the car and produces and amplifies the signal, which is fed to the speaker. I'm not sure if you can simply trigger the unit with 12V to have it sound off. But to answer your questions, you'll need a controller and a siren.
Life moves pretty fast; if you don't stop and look around once in a while; you could miss it.

Notice that it has 2 wires. My question is,do i still need the box that would mount inside the vehicle,or can i just hook this up to a relay?

you need the siren its self
the speaker is just s plain speaker much like subs and an amp.
youll need one of these
http://www.lshlights.net/SIRENS.HTM
and then hook the alarm wire to one of the switches
better off getting like one of the undercover sirens
something like this

ok...here is the problem. the install manual  is for a speaker that ia capable of being used as a siren..you will still need a control for this unit. if you would like ...pm me with the contol and ill give you the install advise.

No i don't plan on pulling anyone over,i just want something different besides the usual alarm siren..I've looked at all my options which include a bb,airhorns, piezo siren.I just want something different that will stand out a lil more if set off..Usually the sound of a police siren makes people turn around. The normal alarm siren folks nowadays just ignore since some people have their alarms set so sensitive, that it hurts the rest of us..
