I installed a Crimestopper 900er remote starter/keyless entry unit today.  Everything worls great!  I do have one question though.  When I  programed the autolock with ignition, the doors would lock and then unlock.  Can this feature be used on this car?  I didnt know if maybe the child saftey lock system had anything to do with it.  Any help would be great guys.  Thanks so much.    Brian

Were the doors opened or closed while you were trying the auto lock feature? BTW, what model Toyota is this in?

The doors were open, but on this unit there is no door wire to let the unit know when they are closed. Unless maybe there is a wire in the car that needs to send a signal to the power door locks that the doors are closed.  It is a 1995 Toyota Camary.  Like I said other than programming this extra feature everything works fine.  Thanks for your help.  Brian

What happens when you try to lock the doors with the door lock switch with the doors opened? Do they lock, or lock and unlock, or do nothing? Did you connect to the child safety wire (RED / green) to unlock the doors? If so, how?

They will lock when pressed with the driver door open.  Yes I did connect the saftey wire to the unlock wire through a diode along with the unlock wire in the vehicle. (just like the diaghram shows)  Brian

on most Toyotas, if the doors are locked with the key in the ignition and any door open, they will immediately unlock----you can prove this by inserting the key and pressing the power lock button.

Try it again with all the doors closed, and it'll probably work fine.  Actually, it's pretty cool that even though you've installed an aftermarket product, you get to retain an important factory feature---it makes it harder to lock the keys in the car, which is usually what happens when automatic door locks are turned on.

Your were Right I reprogramed the autolock with ignition and it would work fine as long as the doors were closed. Thanks again for the info.  Brian
