ive posted this question before with no avail. i have a customer who REALLY likes the fact that when he unlocks his doors at night time with the FACTORY KEY FOB, his domelight, map lights, and exterior mirror lights turn on, lighting his path to his truck (as if he cant see the huge beast without the mirror lights, but anyway....) heres the situation, when the truck is remote started this feature does not work anymore, when you unlock the doors, the exterior mirror lights wont turn on (even if the truck is running with you manually starting the truck with the key it works this way) so obvioulsy whatever circuit controls the map, dome, and mirror lights doesnt allow the map or mirror lights to turn on when igniton is on. has anyone had a customer request this before? does anyone know a sure fire way to make this all functional when truck is running? Ive managed to get the customer off of my back about this, but now im curious for myself about this.

Use a computer kit from bypasskits.com, it mimics the funcition of the factory remote.

Do the all of the lights he wants turn on with the door open when the vehicle is running?  If they do then hook up domelight supervision, if the alarm has this function, and it should turn the lights on when the alarm is disarmed.

thats the thing, the only time the lights on the outside mirrors turn on are when the vehicle is NOT running, so when the truck is remote started the outside mirror lights are defeated. so im looking for a way to keep these mirror lights functional when the vehicle is remote started

if this lighting condition is controlled through a module other than the bcm, you could always use a relay and not let the module see ignition during remote start. . .  but im pretty sure the bcm would control all lighting , and you would want that powered up when the ignition is on. . . . try a bypasskit, these things are a serious lifesaver. . . .  just try and do a grand cherokee without a "cheat" module
