I installed the (dreaded, I know) CA 425 & 535 modules in my 2000 Dodge Durango about 18 months ago.  I've always been plagued with a mysterious ghost setting off my shock sensor (common in the 425), so I finally stopped using the security portion all together (you'd be surprised how mad sleeping neighbors get about the warning chirps at 4AM).  I continue to occassionally use the remote start portion (535) of the system.  Recently, it has begun flashing three times as soon as I click the FOB twice (signal to start).  It does not start first, it does not attempt to start first, it does not pass go, it does not collect $200.  I read a little bit on here about this being one of two things:

1)  Brain Entering Shutdown Mode - this seems to be associated with not using the tach sensor.  I have the tach sensor connected, but I figured I'd try the solution anyway.  I unplugged the power harness and the remote start harness (instead of pulling both of the 30 amp fuses) to reset the brain.  I plugged everything back in and tried to start it.  Same result - three flashes.

2)  Hood Pin Switch - I have the hood pin installed.  Upon visual inspection - everything looks fine at the switch, the wire is still connected, the switch still travels up and down.  I pushed the switch in as far as I could to mimic what the hood should do when it is closed and still the same result.

Is there anything else I'm missing?  Are there any more troubleshooting steps I can try?

For the record, I've got the 425 Revision 2.

Thanks!

You've also made sure you didn't bump the on/off control switch with your foot, right?
Anyway,
A visual inspection of the hoodswitch isn't a bad place to start, but it doesn't allow you to make a 100% accurate decision of whether it's the problem or not. For example, the pinswitch might be good, but the wire could be shorted to ground at some other spot.
If it's not difficult to drop the brain and test the wires AT the brain, that would be the best way to do it...
You'd want to quickly check ALL your shutdown inputs.
--Brake: 12 volts ONLY with brake pressed?
--Hood:   ground ONLY with hood open?
--Control switch: at the small red plug that enters the brain, the little BLACK/ white wire should have ground ONLY when the switch is in the on position.
P.S.
I have the 425/535 installed in two of my personal cars. The only thing I really don't like about the product is there's often a delay after hitting the remote, or sometimes, no response at all.
Other than that, I love these things for all the features and things you can do, and the ease of install once you get used to them.
But, about that shock sensor. I discovered that brand-new, out-of-the-box, these things have the shock sensor set to the absolute maximum.........just like the other Audiovox products I install. That's not very smart.
So, maybe you just haven't adjusted the shock sensor to be less sensitive?

Good suggestions - I'll try and take a look at those wires this weekend.

As far as the shock sensors.  They get set of randomly by what appears to be nothing (and incidently, my neighbors key FOB for his Saab sets it off also), but I can kick my back bumper and nothing happens.  It's hard to imagine it's a sensitivity issue, but I suppose it could be.
