Anyone have good ideas for being able to remove key from manual tranny Alero / Grand Am etc...

The car has to be put into reverse to be able to remove key. I need to leave the car in neutral for remote car starter install.

Can you pull apart the center console and figure out how it works?

It's what I plan to do but I don't have the car here.
